‘Legend’ is often branded around like it’s nothing in this era of football, but for Tottenham fans, Jimmy Greaves is the living embodiment of the word.

The Spurs and England icon is often regarded as one of the finest goalscorers to ever play the game, with Greaves being part of the 1966 squad that lifted the World Cup on home soil as well as remaining Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer with an astonishing 266 goals in 379 appearances for the north London club.

And with the great man turning 80-years-old today, plenty of Tottenham fans have been turning to social media to plead with Spurs to get Greaves a statue outside the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for his accomplishments for both the club and football as a whole in England.
