  • I know it’s a long time since we beat Liverpool at Anfield. But it wasn’t so long ago that we thrashed them 4-1 at Wembley. (October)… And, I’m fully confident that Spurs can get another win today….. We still won’t be pushing City for the title but we can certainly still give United a run for their money, catch them and pip them for 2nd place. … Today is the first day of the rest of the season. Let’s hope it’s a good one.

Spurs to win it, 3-1! Harry, Harry and Dele with the goals.

  • It amazes me that the media keep bringing up our away record against the other top six teams. They ignore our home record against the same teams. The reality is that all top six teams do much better at home against the others, and fare far less well away. It’s not just Spurs.

  • Geofspurs. It the same old reason for the media consistently dumping s*** on spurs. Bad news sells papers, and their internet web site clicks, more the merrier, and journos. keep their jobs. Also journos are supporters of other clubs, so take every chance to stick the boot in as their clubs are not good enough to compete at top of Premier League, or they are a rival to spurs. COYS

  • A win would be fantastic but being realistic I would be happy to take a draw here and then three points against the gooners, a return of 7 points from Manu, ‘Pool and the other lot would be a very good outcome. Salah is clearly the danger man for us today, he is very dangerous once he is on the ball around the penalty area so we need to cut off the supply to him if possible.

  • In the absence of yet another match thread, do we stick to this one?

Hope Spursex is on hols and not awol… he’s normally near the top of the posters leader board.

  • Being truly realistic TQ2Spurs would mean saying it will be either a win, draw or a loss. … But being both realistic and optimistic, Spurs are more than capable of winning today. And no miracles or fairytales or magic will be required. 🙂

Salah is good. They are all pretty good. But Spurs are a pretty damn fine team too and we have several “dangerous” players in our team.

  • I was about to cheekily suggest posting on a Vital Liverpool match thread. I just popped over to take a look at VL and who do I bump into? Geofspurs! Its even less lively on there it seems, as there is only 1 other post aside from Geofs.

  • #THFC: Lloris (C), Trippier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Dele, Son, Kane. #COYS

  • I hope Spursex isn’t Spursick. Where are you, man? Hope the best. Maybe you’re on a tropical beach. As for today’s match: we need a coherent effort on hostile grounds. Poo filled with holes. Let’s exploit them. Harry needs a different pair of boots than he wore vs. Manure. No goals vs. Manure, but Harry goals needed vs. Poo. We dominated Manure, now let’s carry on the scatological tradition and dominate in the home of Poo. COYS. Wipe them up and flush away the used paper. Send Poo to join the Manure. 1 x 3. Harry 2. Son 1.

  • Hugo Lloris
    Jan Vertonghen
    Davinson Sánchez
    Ben Davies
    Kieran Trippier
    Dele Alli
    Mousa Dembélé
    Eric Dier
    Harry Kane
    Son Heung-Min
    Christian Eriksen

  • All in all a rather wipe-able lot of Poo:

    Loris Karius
    Dejan Lovren
    Virgil van Dijk
    Andrew Robertson
    Trent Alexander-Arnold
    Jordan Henderson
    James Milner
    Emre Can
    Roberto Firmino
    Sadio Mané
    Mohamed Salah

  • HT …. I gave up on a VS match thread and then saw the Pool one. So I just had to comment because it looked even more lonely over there! lol

  • Let’s face it, every school boy enjoys a joke about Poo. Especially funny when the dipper is behind the bin when making the Poo.

  • So it looks like we’re making this THE thread! In which case …. Pool 0 – 3 Spurs (Kane to score all three)

  • I can’t watch the game for another 17 hours so I’m off to bed to kill some of the waiting time. Hope you all enjoy the game, lads.
