Official: Tottenham defender to miss Everton clash on Sunday, here’s why

|

Danny Rose will miss Tottenham’s meeting with Everton on Sunday as he’s suspended. The 29-year-old has picked up five yellow cards in the Premier League and has a one-match ban as a result. Mauricio Pochettino is likely to start Ben Davies at left-back in his stead, but Ryan Sessegnon will also be an option.

Rose first booking of the season came in the 66th minute of Spurs’ 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United (August 25). His second booking came in the 28th minute of their 2-2 draw with Arsenal (September 1).

The England international’s third booking came in the 50th minute of their 4-0 win over Crystal Palace (September 14). Rose’s fourth booking came in the 89th minute of their 1-1 draw with Watford (October 19). His fifth booking came in the 37th minute of their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool (October 27).

Rose has made 10 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season, making one assist. The left-back has missed only one league game, but his absence opens to door to Davies or Sessegnon to impress. Rose has been criticised by supporters for his poor form, so they’ll be happy to see somebody else given an opportunity.
