Official: Luke Amos loan update

|

Luke Amos joined Queens Park Rangers on a season-long loan and was a regular under Mark Warburton until he picked up a hamstring injury at the end of August. The 22-year-old was initially ruled out for up to six weeks, but he’s expected to return much sooner after receiving positive news from a scan.

With Tanguy Ndombele, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks and Eric Dier for competition, Amos stood little chance of getting minutes in the Tottenham first-team so he embarked upon a loan move away. He’s made five appearances in all competitions for the Hoops, racking up 301 minutes of playing time.

Amos made his QPR debut against Stoke City (August 3), playing for 68 minutes as the Londoners won 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium. His second outing ended in a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town (August 10). The midfielder was given 30 minutes in the EFL Cup as QPR beat Bristol City (August 13) and had a full 90 minutes against the same team in the Championship (August 17). QPR lost 2-0.

Amos’ last outing for the Hoops was against Swansea City (August 21). He was again on the losing team and only lasted 31 minutes before picking up the hamstring injury. He’s missed QPR’s last two games against Wigan Athletic (August 24) and Sheffield Wednesday (August 31).

Time will tell if he returns to time to face Luton Town on September 14.
