Not So Spursy As A Devilish Performance Hands United Their Backsides – Match Stats

|

After a very hectic run of fixtures for Tottenham Hotspur, today’s clash with Manchester United was the prelude to a well deserved break – the only question was would we go into that break with three points under our belt.

Two minutes into the game United received their obligatory ‘per game’ penalty for Bruno Fernandes and we were 1-0 down, however, we responded brightly and Tanguy Ndombele restored parity just 120 seconds later. We had woken up now and three minutes after, Harry Kane set up Son Heung-Min to edge us in front.

United may have seen more of the ball at 2-1, but good chances came for us – in particular – Sonny and Erik Lamela and Lamela was then involved in some childish slapping game with Anthony Martial and was lucky not to see red himself. Especially with that pathetic fall to the floor routine.

Seconds later it was 3-1 as Kane got himself on the scoresheet and in minute 37, Sonny had his brace.

4-1 at the break, what did the second half have in store for us?

A few minutes after the restart, having already got an assist to his name, Serge Aurier made it 5-1.

After a disastrous Paul Pogba challenge in the box, Harry scored his brace with just over ten remaining from the penalty spot.

Could we make it seven?

No, which was a shame and Luke Shaw can consider himself lucky he didn’t gain a red either.

Time to put the feet up for a bit now lads!
