2 Shots, 5 Key Passes – Most Spurs Fans Will Agree With MotM Choice After United Rout

|

If Sunday was supposed to be a day of rest, nobody had told manager Jose Mourinho or his Tottenham Hotspur starters as we travelled for the annual Old Trafford clash against Manchester United.

The obligatory Manchester United penalty was given out in the second minute Bruno ‘penalty’ Fernandes made no mistake, but our heads didn’t drop – if anything, we woke up properly.

Tanguy Ndombele had us level two minutes later and Son Heung-Min gave us the advantage in minute seven.

Childish handbags between Anthony Martial and Erik Lamela bizarrely saw them go down to ten men with Lamela getting away with it, but we were clearly the side on top and once he went off, we proved it. Harry Kane scored in each half to grab a brace, Sonny went on to complete his brace and even Serge Aurier got on the scoresheet.

Statistics website Whoscored clearly enjoyed our game with some very good ratings handed out, but Sonny nicked their star man award for Man of the Match by a tiny margin over Kane, scoring 9.72.

United Man Of The Match?

Son Heung-Min

Harry Kane

Serge Aurier

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Completing the top five were the aforementioned Harry (9.43), Serge Aurier (8.71), Tanguy Ndombele (8.05) and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (7.97).

I’d have had Hojbjerg higher myself, but Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela also received seven-plus scores.

Feet up now for a bit with the international break and we have to hope managers are sensible given the run of fixtures we’ve had, but at least everyone can get some semblance of a rest now.

Well done lads!
