News: Tottenham youngster has big ambitions

|

Oliver Skipp is looking he could be the latest player off the Mauricio Pochettino production line following the likes of Harry Winks, Harry Kane, and Dele Alli.

All three of these have improved immeasurably under Pochettino’s guidance, and the next player looks like it will be Skipp.

The young midfielder made 14 senior appearances last year and was named on the bench for the Champions League final.

He was also handed a three-year deal as Pochettino has the belief that he can be a regular for Tottenham. Crucially, though Skipp believes he can as well.

Speaking to football.london he comes across as a confident young man who thinks that if he keeps working hard and showing his qualities, he will become a regular in this Tottenham side.

His main ambition is to play in the Champions League, and he has travelled with the squad for tonight’s game with Olympiakos – so could we see Skipp get his first taste of Champions League action?

The atmosphere will be intense, but Pochettino is never one to shy away from throwing young players into tough conditions, in truth, it is the only way they will develop as footballers.

Skipp has already appeared against Manchester City this season – so do not be surprised to see Pochettino’s latest prodigy start to feature more prominently.
