Match Thread – Will Spurs Remember Renne We Were Comfortable In The Europa Conference League

|

After a good and solid victory on Sunday afternoon against struggling Norwich City, new Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte saw his side pick up a third straight Premier League win to move us within two points of a Champions League spot – albeit, there is plenty of football still to come in the 2021/22 campaign.

With ten league points from four games since taking charge, it’s not a bad return by anyone’s standards but the Europa Conference League slip up against NS Mura remains fresh in the memory and could well change our seasonal expectations unless we pick up a good result against table toppers Rennes on Thursday evening.

With two losses from our five games so far, we can no longer top Group G, but everyone will be hoping we can take the three points and finish second on ten points as that should see us through to the Play-Offs even if Vitesse win their final game – assuming I’ve understood the rules correctly.

Over to Conte and the team.

German striker Jurgen Klinsmann spent two years at White Hart Lane in separate spells, but how many league goals did he contribute?

    Well done Mura
If and when we play Rennes we just need to win to get to the playoff .
Can we be drawn vs Leicester ?

Why do teams drop to the lower competition when they fail to qualify. Total joke and should not be happening.

  • Allan says:

Looks as if the Leicester game may be off especially as they have a number of Covid cases themselves .
This idea will be not considered but may be the one to safeguard clubs from Covid outbreaks ? Why not introduce an enforced break after the weekend until perhaps Boxing day just to ensure that all teams are covid free and hopefully players will not be able to pass it on to other members of their team or the opposition ?

    Why always us??
With saying that I hope the people infected are OK.
Rennes were a bit disingenuous with their posturing when this was announced.
With all that said it makes for a poor Christmas watch for us, plus the rescheduled games are unlikely to be televised 🙁
