Match Thread – Spurs Looking For Some TLC From The NLD Or Will The Gooners Get Us

|

With new Tottenham Hotspur gaffer, Nuno Espirito Santo, experiencing his first real struggles with performance levels and results in recent matches, it was a change of pace on Wednesday evening as he returned to Molineux to face former club Wolverhampton Wanderers in the EFL Cup.

It was an unexpectedly bright start from Spurs and 25 minutes in we had a two goal advantage following efforts from Tanguy Ndombele and Harry Kane and it looked like we might take some real confidence into Sunday’s North London battle with Arsenal.

Sadly not as Wolves hit back to take the game to penalties and even though we secured a 3-2 win, it was again more of a sense of relief than a reemergence of any real form.

Although we head to the Library with a three point advantage, form is clearly on their side as they come into the tie looking for their third win on the spin, so with derby day tensions on top, it takes a brave man to try and predict this one – but with a reaction expected from the players, there would be little sweeter than travelling home with a win from this one.

German striker Jurgen Klinsmann spent two years at White Hart Lane in separate spells, but how many league goals did he contribute?

We’ve passed embarrassment into something far worse. Shameful.

  • TQ2Spurs says:

FFS…..how do we make a crap Arseanal side look like Barca under Pep?

  • TK says:

We’ve passed embarrassment. We’re into shameful here.

  • 123spurs says:

    It’s just typically spurs, bottlers

  • Andre says:

I won’t put myself through anymore of this, another rout on the cards, I won’t blame the coach, he was never gonna be the right man, Squarely on Levy and his band of idiots. They refuse to strengthen in the right areas, season after season after season, if you cannot see where the problems are the consequences will be severe. Kane is wearing a Spurs shirt but he is no longer our player. What an absolute farce…

  • TK says:

We’re descending into the lower depths of Dante’s Inferno. Bring back Christian Gross, for God’s sake.

  • 123spurs says:

A weak defence and you have dele and ndombele in front seriously what is that all about, making arsenal look like great.

  • TK says:

Nuno the Holy Ghost must be regretting that he took this job. After this he’ll be lucky to get a job managing a third tier club in Kuta Kinabalu.

  • 123spurs says:

With all jose problems this is actually worse.

  • 123spurs says:

Andre, nuno picks the team and players formations and tactics, he is to blame. Picking the same players that failed for the last few years.

  • TK says:

If we don’t see major changes made at the half I will be able to conclude only that we are without an active manager today. This is relegation-bound group if this continues.

  • 123spurs says:

Can it be FT so Geoff can get his prediction right again, arsenal have scored 2 goals before this game, sums it up really.

  • TQ2Spurs says:

Moura has been fouled every time he touches the ball.

I said after the Palace defeat that I thought the job would turn out to be too big for Nuno, judging by his pained and puzzled look on the sideline I was probably right.

  • TK says:

    Paratici Out!

  • 123spurs says:

Agree now TQ, are players walking all over him not listing to him.

  • Geofspurs says:

Woeful defending but don’t give up yet, lads. We can still avoid relegation …. maybe.

  • 123spurs says:

I want spurs to to relagated, might actually wake the club up. Cause this ain’t working

  • TK says:

Can anyone tell me when Spurs have performed as poorly as they are performing today? Against an Arse n hole team that has looked pitiful this season until today?

I can see nothing good in the match from the players in our kit. Are my eyes simply missing something? Has it been as horrible as it looks? Tell me i’m hallucinating. What I’m seeing is disgraceful.

  • DoncasterHotspur says:

This is on Levy for his appalling football decisions, for Paratici for his embarrassing managerial search, for Nuno for his complete lack of a game plan and appalling team set up and for the players for a gutless clueless performance. Shame on all of them.
Nuno is so out of his depth it is laughable. Unfortunately sacking him will make Levy and Paratici look even worse than they already do so we have to accept another failed season where we pay the highest ticket prices in Europe.

  • TK says:

Relegation would be too good for a team playing like this. Something is deeply missing in our lads. It seems that they’re all asking to be shipped out to anywhere other than Spurs. What’s happened to bring this miserable display about.
