Match Thread – Spurs Looking For A Royal Flush In Group J

|

So it’s that time of the week again and Tottenham Hotspur fans can look forward to another Europa League evening at White Hart Lane. Our task this week is to simply beat Royal Antwerp and take our place at the top of Group J.

Easier said than done with the way our form has wobbled in Europe with manager Jose Mourinho taking full advantage to rotate the first team squad and give other players minutes as well as resting others, and we know Antwerp won’t be a rollover following our 1-0 defeat to them back at the end of October in the away leg.

Home comforts, along with a significant morale boost from last weekend’s comfortable victory over North London Rivals Arsenal – as well as our little gap at the top of the Premier League table – should play in our advantage though.

Injury wise, I believe Erik Lamela remains out, but Tanguy Ndombele could come back into contention for this one.

Tottenham Hotspur's foundations lie in another sport, which one?

Having watched paint dry for the first half , it was good to see us getting a decent result. Could have been a lot more. Great free kick from Bale well followed up by Vinicius. Good to see Lo Celso get a goal, he worked very hard. He could have had a hat trick but still unable to use his right foot and missed two glorious chances. ( Get practising, it’s embarrassing ) Sad to see Jose still bullying Dele and maybe now Winks. Very very disappointing. Will be glad when Jose goes. nasty little man. Ridiculous to bring on all the big guns when the game was won. What was that all about? To punish Dele and Winks? Should be ok to dispatch Palace on Sunday but the big 6 pointer on Amazon Prime next Wednesday is against Liverpool at Anfield. Then Leicester following Sunday. We should still be top on 31/12 2020.

    Hi jod!

Don’t you think it makes a change from all the positive crap that you always used to pull me up on?

You are funny little f****er! Funny, but without any sense of humour or irony, whatsoever…

    JOD!

Almost on a daily basis, I have talked about how happy I am with the team and the manager. (Why wouldn’t I be)? And how I’m convinced that we can win something this season… And you are calling me negative.

Why don’t you just try debating my points with me instead of always putting me down? … I think my points are valid ones about Jose’s rotation methods in the EL. I am genuinely concerned about how it pans out if the likes of Kane and Son pick up serious injuries again… And so I can’t see the worth in playing some of our players in the EL but only for 45 minutes here and there or taking them off early when playing well…. I’m concerned that Vinicius for example is nowhere ready for the PL, if needed. And as I pointed out, I believe that Jose will be playing his first choice players more and more when the EL resumes.

I am sure Jose has a plan and will work it out as best he can. I just can’t see it yet…

    I was simply trying to start a debate… Unfortunately I failed…. Again!

The second part of my post was tongue in cheek…. Wasn’t that obvious?!

HT……..that’s just what jod does, not just to you but to everyone on here who offers an alternative viewpoint to his, it must be part of his DNA, sad really. Much of the time it’s clear that he has not even understood the point of a post before replying in his usual condescending manner.

Job done, hope for a good draw in the next round.

Seems Bale can still take fee kicks :-).
