Match Thread – I’ll Have A Newcastle Brown Ale, Oh & Three Points

|

With a poor week by Tottenham Hotspur’s own recent standards as we crashed out of both domestic Cups last week, there was reason to cheer as we faced Watford in midweek and fans will be hoping that extends this weekend as we face Rafa Benitez and his Newcastle United side.

Whilst the Cup dream is over, manager Mauricio Pochettino has made it clear in his mind the Premier League and Champions League (purely from a financial point if nothing else) are more important to the long-term good of the club and despite Watford being a struggle in many senses, we did what we’ve done well this year and ground out the victory for all three points.

Another win this weekend and all three points once again would certainly help temper the disappointment in the fanbase and we can of course take the boost that was Son Heung-Min’s return from international action, as well as a sixth goal of the campaign for Fernando Llorente.

As many fans pointed out on this very site, play to Llorente’s strengths and we can get the best from him.

We’ll soon see whether we do that again.
