Pochettino Suggests Spurs Fans Shouldn’t Expect A Busy Deadline Day

|

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has tempered January transfer hopes as we go into tonight’s deadline day shenanigans.

With our last capture being attacker Lucas Moura at this point last year, Spurs have been linked with plenty of potential incomings on the rumour mill and some have sounded more sensible that others given the potential fees bandied around, but speaking after the late victory over Watford in the Premier League on Wednesday night, Poch poured cold water on the chances of some late arrivals.

Quoted by Sky Sports following the game, the Argentine explained.

“No, I don’t know anything. I am going to talk now with my chief scout Steve Hitchen, I am going to ask for some news. I expect that maybe some players are going to leave but I do not expect that we are going to add to the squad. I am going to talk because I want some news, but not because I am expecting to sign a player.”

Clearly, we do have some plates spinning as he admits he was going to check on progress, but Poch does generally downplay things but many fans will think his message is exactly what they expected from the club again.

Let’s hope by 11pm we have a surprise or two.
