Late Show From Spurs Saves More Blushes – Match Stats

|

After a poor and disappointing week as Tottenham Hotspur crashed out of both domestic Cup competitions to Chelsea and Crystal Palace respectively, it was back to Premier League action tonight with manager Mauricio Pochettino’s side hopefully looking to prove a point against visitors Watford.

Welcoming the side to Wembley Stadium with Pochettino himself stating earlier in the day that Wembley had become an issue with ongoing White Hart Lane delays, Spurs could at least welcome back Son Heung-Min following his Asian Cup action but Lucas Moura did drop to the substitutes bench.

The visitors had the lead 38 minutes into the game and it very much looked like it was going to be one of those nights for Spurs as despite dominating possession and chances overall, we got few on target and Fernando Llorente’s spoon from four odd yards looked like it would sum up our past week.

Sonny did what Sonny does though and marked his return with a leveller in the 80th minute and would you believe it, Llorente made up for the earlier miss and gave us a 2-1 advantage with three minutes remaining in regulation time.

That was where it ended as we returned to winning ways.
