Italians Offer Portuguese Playmaker In Bid To Sign £30m Spurs Midfielder

|

Inter Milan will try to use Joao Mario in their offer to sign Mousa Dembele, according to the Corriere Dello Sport.

We are said to be holding firm on our £30m asking price; a figure that the Serie A club cannot afford. To make up the shortfall in their cash offer, they are said to be looking at using the Portuguese playmaker in part exchange.

Mario was signed by the Nerazzurri for €40m in 2016 but he spent the last six months on loan at West Ham. He made 14 appearances for the Hammers last season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Dembele also has two Chinese Super League clubs monitoring his situation. The Evening Standard reports that we would prefer the Belgian to move to the Far East, but the player is insisting on a switch to Italy.

Neither Inter nor Milan or Napoli can afford the 30-year-old’s price tag, and although we are said to be resigned to losing the player this summer, he could yet remain if he’s priced out of a move to Serie A.
