“Glad We Didn’t Get Newcastle” – These Spurs Fans Are Delighted With CL Draw

|

On Thursday afternoon, UEFA announced the Group Stage draw for the 2019/20 Champions League campaign and Tottenham Hotspur come up against some familiar names.

Having been placed in Group B, our battles this year will come against Bayern Munich, Olympiacos and Red Star Belgrade and fans will definitely be hoping our route through to qualification is a little less tense than it was last season – albeit after some magnificent fightbacks we made it all the way through to what was ultimately a disappointing final against Liverpool.

With Newcastle United disappointment still fresh in the mind from last weekend, fans taking to social media to react to the draw took the opportunity for a few cheap laughs.

After last season’s exploits, given it is a relatively easier group on paper, there’s every reason for confidence that we can again take a European journey to the latter stages of the competition, but as ever, it’s down to us to do just that.
