Having been on the end of a hugely disappointing, and embarrassing, Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich in midweek, Tottenham Hotspur were looking to draw a significant line under that debacle as we got back to Premier League action earlier today and travelled to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion.
Well, we certainly didn’t draw a line and Spurs seemed to go from the disastrous to the ridiculous. Brighton opened the scoring three minutes in and with the goal, Hugo Lloris looked to have picked up a serious injury inside. We hadn’t reached the ten minute mark of the game by this point and it just got worse from then on.
The hosts added a second just after the half-hour mark, and they wrapped up the three points shortly after an hour had been played in the game, and we simply had no response whatever in reality.
If Bayern was bad, I’m not so sure what we should be calling this?
