Everton v Tottenham: Team news and predicted line-up

|

Spurs face Everton tomorrow night at 8pm in a fixture which could see the Toffees leap frog us in the Premier League table, putting Champions League football even further out of reach.

With Jose Mourinho’s future at stake too potentially and a Carabao Cup Final looming, it’s crucial the team regains a bit of confidence and goes into the final few games of the season on a good streak of form.

The Portuguese manager today admitted that he also knows why the team keeps dropping points from winning positions, but while he could only say partially it was down to the quality of the team in comparison to his previous clubs, the other parts were left secret.

“I know why it happened,” Mourinho said.

“I know also that you can look at it from a different perspective.

“A team that starts matches well, starts winning matches, means something positive that you like to forget.

“The positive aspect of that, but I agree with you in the sense that when you are in winning positions and lose points, there are also negative things to it.”

“That’s what I’m not ready to discuss with you. I think it has to do with some of our qualities as a team, but I’m not ready to discuss with you.”

Mourinho also added that Ben Davies and Matt Doherty are still injured and again won’t be available for the game against Everton.

Japhet Tanganga could return to the starting line-up, and it’s a 50/50 between the fans as to whether he will start over Serge Aurier, but we believe Mourinho will give the nod to the Ivorian.

We think that due to the recent results, Mourinho will return to the 4-3-3 system he deployed earlier in the season which was slightly more successful, and Moussa Sissoko will come in to replace Giovani Lo Celso and Toby Alderweireld will come in to replace Eric Dier, but other than that the team will be unchanged.

Tottenham predicted line-up to face Everton: (4-3-3) GK: Hugo Lloris (C); LB: Sergio Reguilon, CB: Joe Rodon, CB: Toby Alderweireld, RB: Serge Aurier; CDM: Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, CM: Tanguy Ndombele, CM: Moussa Sissoko; LW: Heung-min Son, ST: Harry Kane, RW: Lucas Moura
