We all know yesterday was a shambles from start to finish for Tottenham, and whilst there were more than a couple of offenders in their exit against Colchester United in the Carabao Cup, Christian Eriksen is copping a lot of stick.

The Danish midfield missed two penalties in pre-season when the Lilywhites faced off against Bayern Munich and Inter Milan in the Audi Cup and International Champions Cup respectively, and now he’s made it three missed penalties in shootouts in a row.
It wasn’t like the creative midfield man missed the target either. The Dane had his spot-kick saved, but that doesn’t matter, as he still didn’t score and Tottenham still bowed out of the Carabao Cup. Whether or not he can win the fans back from here is yet to be seen, but judging on some of the tweets he got it doesn’t look good.
