Just when you think it’s relatively safe to come out from under your blanket when it comes to the madness of transfer windows, you spot a new piece of speculation. Tottenham Hotspur are now said to be in the hunt for Rennes 16-year-old talent, Eduardo Camavinga.
The Daily Mail reported on Monday that Spurs (having watched him since last summer) had now joined a raft of clubs in the chase for his signature and we apparently had scouts in place once more at Roazhon Park as Rennes took a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain.
Despite his tender age, he was in their starting XI for the game and he already boasts seven starts, with three showings from the bench to his name and his stock is certainly on the rise.
Admittedly there’s little of note to the report, other than the scouting claim, and predictably you can tick off the usual suspects – Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester City, Arsenal etc – but this would definitely be a Spurs sort of signing when it came to somebody for the future, but given some of the bizarre transfer fees we’ve seen, I’m not sure anything will come of this.
He could well be a name to remember though.
I'd buy this kid, Camavinga, without blinking

We should get him by the time he is 26

Watched him on Sunday night and he was outstanding – I think there will be many clubs looking at him, so Tottenham best out their best foot forward to avoid missing out. COYS
