With the multitude of plaudits coming from all quarters for our display against Real Madrid, Hugo has decided that he had to join in too.,

As any great keeper does, he`s taken command and congratulated his own career defining decision making.

And he was dead right too;

Speaking to the Press Association he had this to say;

“From the first moment I believed in Pochettino, and that`s it. It was my feeling when I met him and I was right at the time. He is a great manager and the Real Madrid game proved it.

“Now I just enjoy the football we play. Sometimes in football you live great moments and you live some sad moments.

“But there is a great potential in the squad, a great project in our club, and I am looking forward to see this development. I try my best to help the team and the club to develop, too.”

So, if you didn`t believe in love at first sight, you should now, if you prefer call it gut instinct, not for the first time I’ve been told that Poch has the sort of presence and personality that can fill a room and make you shut up and listen. Are players blowing smoke up his backside, do they need to, or is this outpouring of continuing devotion and admiration completely warranted?

I do now have one gripe with all our players when they`re interviewed, sooner rather than later (i.e. end of this season) I`d like to see them not talking about ‘great potential` but simply saying ” we`ve had our first taste of success, and now we want more..”

Do that, and by then Poch’s personality power will persuade even his more ardent doubters, won’t he?
