“Always Wanted To Play Premier League Football” – Highly Rated Spurs Target Comments On His Future

|

The rumour mill at Tottenham Hotspur has long had us linked with Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon and all season long there have been plenty of claims made in the media about our supposed interest in him – and his brother with some suggesting we may be planning on a double raid.

With some claims of £50million being what Fulham would ask, that simply won’t happen now given their relegation back to the Championship after a poor year back in the top flight and the expectation, given manager Mauricio Pochettino’s own words about a rebuild over the summer, is we are going to splash the cash as we look to kick on now and lose the overachieving tag.

In a recent interview with the Sun the highly rated 18-year-old said the right things about his contract given it doesn’t expire until the summer of 2020, but he certainly didn’t rule out a move when the window opens.

“Personally, I am still a Fulham player until 2020 but, of course, my aim is to play at the highest level. I am not sure where the future will take me but I have always wanted to play regular Premier League football.”

It hasn’t been a great year for the lad when compared to the impact he had in the Championship 2017/18 campaign, although he has shown plenty of flashes of what he could be capable of, and he does appear to be very much a Poch type of player that can be developed further.

Plenty of fans are already on board with the idea of doing a deal, so we’ll have to see if it happens.
