If the transfer rumours are anything to go by, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to spend an absolute fortune this summer and improve their squad hugely.
The likes of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso have been touted with big-money moves recently and The Mirror have claimed we will be prepared to smash our transfer record twice to get those deals across the line.
Considering that the current club-record stands at £42million for Davinson Sanchez (Guardian), it would not be hard to see that happen, although the chairman is not going to be forced to spend extravagantly on the duo, is he?
Unsurprisingly, the report states that Daniel Levy is still determined to stick to his guns and try and get the best deal he can as he will not be held to ransom by either Olympique de Lyonnais or Real Betis for their talented stars.
Whilst his tactics within the market would hugely benefit Spurs, many of the club’s supporters have seen it all before and the latest news has does not appear to have left many with confidence that he will get either of these deals across the line.
One fan mentioned on Twitter that it was ‘typical Levy’ to hold out for a ‘rock-bottom deal’ and ultimately miss out on them, whilst another felt it meant we would not be signing either this summer because of his lowball style of negotiations. Here are some of those reactions…
someone will snatch them if we don’t act quickly and it will be same old Tottenham.

This is typical Levy. Always holding out for a rock bottom deal. Not saying we should over-pay for players. But his dithering has cost many a player in the past. We have better cash flow now, pay the going rate.

In other words it means we will not be signing either player
