“A Brilliant Addition” – Former Spurs Player Would Love To See The Club Target This Serial Winner

|

Like every transfer window, the rumour mill goes out of control at this time of year and especially with Tottenham Hotspur’s fall from grace in 2019, it’s no surprise to see us linked with any player with an ounce of quality but former Spurs and England goalkeeper Paul Robinson has come up with an interesting suggestion – Chelsea’s Willian.

Ian McGarry on the Transfer Window Podcast had recently suggested that former Chelsea gaffer Jose Mourinho could make an attempt to sign Willian this month to bolster our options and it caused quite a stir, with Robinson also picking up on it.

“If Willian became available, he is a top-quality player and if there is anyway Mourinho could convince him to come to Spurs, he’d be a brilliant addition. I think he’d fit into the squad perfectly as he’s a top-class player and you know what’s gone on in the past is irrelevant. If he performs in a Tottenham shirt, there won’t be a problem.”

With Willian yet to agree a new deal at Stamford Bridge and being out of contract next summer (I believe) it’s not that much of a pie in the sky suggestion and with his experience, medal record and goal return I can’t imagine many fans wouldn’t believe he’d be a solid addition at the right price, even if he’s not a Spurs sort of signing at the age of 31.

We’ll certainly see worse suggestions this month.

Would you welcome Willian to Spurs?
