The first game of Tottenham Hotspur’s Easter weekend double header pitted us against Manchester City once again.
With Champions League quarter-final success over Pep Guardiola’s side, this one was always going to be slightly different and most fans knew there would be decent rotation and maybe an element of ‘after the Lord Mayor’s’ to it given midweek passions.
Ultimately we probably should’ve taken a point on balance, but their early goal was enough to send the points their way. Statistics website Whoscored probably summed up how tight the game was (allowed for the Etihad hosts better possession) as they had goalkeeper Ederson down as the star man with an 8.03 rating from the game.
On our side, Man of the Match went to Juan Foyth with a score of 7.31 and to complete the top five on the day were Jan Vertonghen (6.95), Davinson Sanchez (6.68), Son Heung-Min (6.56) and Toby Alderweireld (6.55).
It was the game most seemed happy to throw but in some senses with how close we came to a result, it makes it more frustrating.
A handful of games left, and top four is in our hands still with a semi-final to look forward to.
