5 Shots, 1 Key Pass But Even Spurs’ Own Sonny Couldn’t Smile After Tuesday Night – MotM

|

With Tottenham Hotspur’s shattering defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday evening in our Group B Champions League clash, I wasn’t actually going to bother doing the usual post-game Man of the Match mention.

Having lost 7-2 on the night, I’ve found that others (Have Your Say pieces either already published or soon to be) have covered my initial thoughts – both positive and negative – and a few things that hadn’t occurred to me.

With that said, taking a fresh look today, knowing that statistics website Whoscored only gave one of our players a seven plus rating following the game, I felt it was unfair for Son Heung-Min to not get some credit for his efforts.

Pulling in a score of 7.68, the 27-year-old was quite a way ahead of anyone else who made up their top five after that.

Moussa Sissoko came second with 6.84), followed by Dele Alli (6.77), Harry Kane (6.71) and Tanguy Ndombele (6.52).

As others have said being a little more philosophical, it was the quintessential bad night at the office and we can’t let this result completely derail our season, we have to get on with it.
