£34m valuation, £0.2m salary – details of latest Tottenham target

|

According to Sport (h/t Sport Witness), Tottenham are one of many clubs interested in Luca Jovic. The 21-year-old has set the Bundesliga alight after a breakthrough season on loan with Eintracht Frankfurt and looks to have a bright future ahead of him.

Jovic international has scored 15 goals in 24 Bundesliga games and seven in 10 Europa League appearances this campaign. The Serbian international has also created 20 chances and made 17 successful dribbles (53%). His currently worth around £34m and earns only £0.2m-per-year as a salary.

Tottenham are in the market for a centre-forward to play backup to Harry Kane, as Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente looks set to depart the club this summer. Jovic may not be the best player for such a role as he could be a standout performance in his own right.

Mauricio Pochettino would have to find a way to include both players in the side if he were to sign Jovic, as using him as backup would be an almighty waste of his ability. He’s contributed a total of 40 goals in 63 games for Frankfurt since joining on loan from Benfica in 2017.

Barcelona are showing an interest in the young forward, so Tottenham aren’t likely to lead the race for his signature if they can’t promise first-team football.
