21-Year-old Takes Spurs MotM But There’s Not A Lot To Shout About Unfortunately

|

A bad week got worse for Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon as we suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace to go crashing out of the FA Cup at the fourth round stage.

Having headed out of the EFL Cup in midweek to Chelsea, this was the last thing anyone wanted but with injuries biting, too many players just simply didn’t perform – even though we dominated the game.

Statistics website Whoscored’s player ratings probably sum up the afternoon as only one player received a score of seven or above.

Juan Foyth took their Man of the Match with 7.14 for the 21-year-old’s individual efforts on the day, and he was followed by Erik Lamela (6.96), goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga (6.89), Kyle Walker-Peters (6.77) and Lucas Moura (6.58).

I imagine a fair few fans will disagree with the scores they handed out after that performance, but it was just poor and it’s only going to reinforce views about squad depth – especially up top.
