After being in and around the title challenge melee in recent seasons, Tottenham supporters will be hoping that they can go all the way, in 2018 / 2019, to bring the Premier League trophy to the club for the first time.

It would be a dream conclusion to our first season at our brand, spanking new ground.

But, history has shown that to win the Premier League title, you have to get your season off to a good start, you just cannot hope to play catch-up when there are teams like Manchester City in the title mix.

Thursday saw the release of the fixtures for the forthcoming season, a campaign of hope as we might like to call it.

But, returning to the aforementioned good start, who has the fixture computer decreed will be our opposition for the first half dozen Premier League games of the season?

Tottenham’s opening six games will pan out as thus:

• Newcastle (a) – St James Park
• Fulham (h) – Wembley Stadium
• Manchester United (a) – Old Trafford
• Watford (a) – Vicarage Road
• Liverpool (h) – White Hart Lane
• Huddersfield (a) – John Smiths Stadium

(Note: Tottenham’s first home game of the new season will be played at Wembley whilst the new ground is finished.)

As you can see, those first six-games see Tottenham go head-to-head with two other members of the so-called big six.

But, and here’s where you play your part, how many points do you believe Tottenham will earn, out of the 18 available, in those first six games?

Could those first six-games shape our season one way or another?

  • 18 points. providing we get referees that do their job correctly and not favour Man U and Liverpool. We are used to playing away.
I can count on one hand over the past 20 years how many games spurs have started their opening game at Home. Arsenal always get home game priority for the opening game of the season.

  • Is this a complaint or a boast ? Home or away for our first fixture makes no difference as the stadium will not be ready. Pointless comment. However if we get 18 points it will be a sure pointer to a great season. It is possible but not probable. 14 more likely.
