Tottenham Set To Miss Out On Serie A Midfield General

|

AC Milan central midfielder Franck Kessie looks set to stay at the San Siro after agreeing terms on a contract extension, according to TMW.

The Italian rumour mongers report that we were interested in the Ivorian international, but we will now have to look elsewhere.

If there was genuine interest in Kessie, it would have been a surprise as he is currently in the middle of on a two-year loan from Atalanta. The 21-year-old only moved to the Rossoneri last summer and will move permanently to the Serie A side for £18m in July 2019.

The holding midfield player had a good first season despite the club’s struggles in the league, scoring five goals and providing six assists in 54 appearances last campaign.

He could have been a candidate to replace Mousa Dembele, but considering the nature of his deal with Milan, it would have been a very complicated transfer if we had tried to make an offer.
