WSL Preview: Spurs vs West Ham

|

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies will be looking to bounce back from last Sunday’s disappointing defeat at Reading with a victory against West Ham United at Brisbane Road tomorrow afternoon (kick-off time 2 PM BST). The Women’s Super League match is available to watch for free online via FA player.

The visitors are currently one place above Rehanne Skinner’s Spurs in 6th, although the hosts will have the chance to leapfrog West Ham with a victory.

Having lost the last two matches without scoring, Spurs are under pressure to turn things around before the New Year if they have serious ambitions of consolidating a top-half finish and diminishing the gap between the sides above them.

The interesting thing is that they have never lost three WSL matches in a row without scoring, and their opponents have had similar troubles in front of goal in recent matches, putting in a tame performance at struggling Liverpool last time out.

Skinner’s side will be determined to avoid going another match without scoring against their fierce London rivals, who have dropped the most points from winning positions this season (9).

However, it was Spurs that squandered their advantage in the corresponding fixture last season, where ten-man West Ham nicked a point at Spurs with a last-minute equaliser from Kate Longhurst back in January.
