For those of you that follow the women’s team, attention now inevitably turns to our third WSL match of the season: an encounter against newly-promoted Liverpool at our new home – Leyton Orient’s Brisbane Road – with a 2 pm kick-off BST.

Spurs have had a mixed start to life in the WSL, beating Leicester 2-1 on the opening day, then rolling over at the Emirates to our North London rivals Arsenal, then following that up with a 2-1 Continental Cup win at Reading.

Our opponents Liverpool have also had a mixed start to the season themselves, beating champions Chelsea on the opening day before receiving a derby day pasting of their own at home to Everton in matchday two. They will therefore be looking for a positive response this afternoon as they look to settle back into life in the top division under Matt Beard.

Speaking to Football.London, boss Rehanne Skinner reported that the squad was nearly at full strength:

“We are looking in a better position than what we did before the international break. We’ve got several players who weren’t available for us at Reading who are in a much better position now.

“Several restricted minutes to be honest which has been part of the process this season but yes, we are almost going to be at full strength for the ones that aren’t longer-term injuries.

“But the positive is Kerris Harrop is much closer, so we are hoping that within the next few weeks, she will be back on the pitch as well.

“Next week, we will be in a position to have Chioma Ubogagu as well so that is positive.”

As always, WSL matches are able to be streamed on FA player, where you can catch this afternoon’s game.
