A well-fought win for the Lilywhites, with a number of standout performances within the team – this is how the players ranked.
Manager rating- 7
The Richarlison injury forced Conte into action, with that substitution changing the game. Bissouma’s addition and the team reverting to the 3-5-2 formation completely changed the affair and Spurs went on to dominate proceedings.
Hugo Lloris- 7
The Frenchman will be happy to add another clean sheet to his tally, in a game where he was not tested too much.
Matt Doherty- 8
A top-class performance from the Irishman and Conte clearly agreed, embracing Doherty at full-time. Clearly this performance should mark the end of Emerson’s run in the team.
Christian Romero- 8
Romero clattering into tackles is honestly a pleasure to watch, it’s just a sight you don’t get to see in today’s game. Awesome performance from the centre half.
Eric Dier- 7
Solid and done his job, Gareth Southgate will surely be watching…
Ben Davies- 7
Started the game shaky and seemed a tad over-eager. However, the Welshman grew into the game and remained solid.
Ivan Perisic- 7
After a few rough performances, Perisic was much better today – very active in the final third, creating a number of chances for the side.
Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg- 9
My MOTM today. Some people may not agree but Hojbjerg has to be the one best midfielders in the league at the moment. The Dane is integral to Conte’s system. I don’t know what Spurs would do without him.
Rodrigo Bentancur- 8
The Uruguayan’s energy was one of the key reasons for today’s win. His run and eventual cross lead to Hojbjerg’s goal, which was vital in killing the game.
Richarlison- 6
Another poor game for Richy today, but hopefully that injury does not leave him out for too long and put his World Cup dreams in doubt.
Heung-Min Son- 8
A quiet game for Son regarding goals and assists but the South Korean worked his absolute socks off and helped drive Spurs forward.
Harry Kane- 8
The England skipper put Wednesday’s awful penalty behind him and delivered a typical Harry Kane performance. He is also seeming like he is getting sharper and sharper, which is perfect timing for Qatar next month.
