What experts say about Spurs transfer target Vlahovic

|

Dusan Vlahovic has become Spurs‘ number one transfer target should Harry Kane sign for Manchester City this summer, and the Fiorentina star has a price tag of £51 million, but with the 21-year-old’s contract up in two years, that fee can definitely be negotiated down by Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici.

Earlier today, we explored why Vlahovic would be a great addition to Spurs should Kane leave the club, but if you still weren’t convinced by us, have a read of what the experts have had to say, starting off with Lecce sporting director Pantaleo Corvino, who was at Fiorentina when the Italian club signed the Serbian from Partizan back in 2018.

“Vlahovic is a starter – quality has no age,” said Corvino.

“Vlahovic could now play as a centre-forward for both Juventus and Liverpool or Tottenham.”

Meanwhile, former Fiorentina coach Giuseppe Iachini has compared him to legendary Italian striker Christian Vieri, and believes that only Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland is a better player out of anyone who was born in 2000.

“Dusan has the stuff, the technique, the personality and the strength to play for a great team,” explained Iachini. “Then, whether it’s Juventus, Real Madrid or Manchester United, is not for me to say.

“After Haaland, Dusan is the best striker from the class of 2000. Vlahovic is predestined, just like [Juventus forward Paulo] Dybala was.

“Technically, he reminds me of Bobo Vieri. Left foot, well built, excellent defending the ball, good shot, good technique and excellent in attacking the spaces.”

Vieri himself also has bigged up the Fiorentina hitman himself previously, saying: “I think that, after Haaland and Mbappe, he is one of the strongest in Europe.

“He has quality, technique. He is Serbian and they are all technically good. They are called the Brazilians of the east.”

Former Milan and Parma player Stefano Cuoghi has also hailed the Serbian striker in recent months, and has went as far as singling him out as someone he would hope his beloved AC Milan would sign this summer.

“Among the young people I would take Vlahovic, he showed great things, like his attitude on the pitch in the second half of the championship.” said Cuoghi

There is no doubt that if Kane leaves, Vlahovic would be a more than suitable replacement, and if one thing is guaranteed, it’s that goals will follow if Spurs put their faith in the striker.
