Well That Was A Little Bit More Difficult Than It Needed To Be But Spurs Man Will Be Delighted With His Return

|

Tottenham Hotspur travelled to the home of MK Dons earlier this evening to face off against Watford in the third round of the 2018/19 EFL Cup competition.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino made changes to the lineup as many fans had expected he would and with Victor Wanyama making a return much to the delight of many in the fanbase, Dele Alli got his expected return to Stadium: MK as well as he hones his fitness after injury.

A scoreless first half saw the visitors (Watford) takes the lead one minute into the second period but a penalty from Alli had us level inside of the final ten minutes. Erik Lamela looked to have won the tie with four minutes remaining, but Etienne Capoue almost spoiled the night as he levelled in the 89th minute to send the game to penalties.

For a penalty rundown:

Spurs:

Son Heung-min scores, Lamela scores, Llorente scores, Alli scores.

Watford:

Success scores, Capoue saved, Hughes scores, Quina saved.

FT – 4-2.
