The Champions League final is just over a couple of weeks away now and the excitement is surely building among the squad and, of course, us as fans.
Regardless of how we do in the showpiece in Madrid, though, we need to build on this season and add to the squad – something I am confident we are going to be able to do.
Rumours are rife, then, but one that appears to have taken a u-turn and stopped dead in its tracks is that concerning Gareth Bale.
Not so long ago we saw the Sun report that the player could well return to the club on a loan deal but speaking to ESPN, his agent Jonathan Barnett has played down the potential for that.
He’s said that Gareth intends to see his contract out with Madrid – with three years left on it – and that he wants to prove himself to manager Zinedine Zidane.
Perhaps we should forget this for now.
