Tottenham ‘keen on’ £18m midfielder, ‘scouts have been watching’ 23-year-old

|

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham are ‘keen on’ Florian Grillitsch. The report states that ‘scouts have been watching’ the £18m midfielder and could sign him as a replacement for Mousa Dembele. The Belgian international looks set to join Beijing Sinobo Guoan and will leave a void to fill in the engine room.

Grillitsch could be the solution to Tottenham’s problem, with the 23-year-old averaging a tackle or interception every 16 minutes in the Bundesliga. He averages more than 40 passes per game, boasts an 81.5% completion ratio and has an 86% dribble success rate.

The Austrian international will bring substance to the midfield and can drive with the ball from deep without relinquishing possession. He’s definitely in the mould of Dembele, but he’s not the only player on Tottenham’s shortlist. Sky Sports believe Denis Zakaria of Borussia Monchengladbach is on their radar.

Spurs are also eyeing Tanguy N’Dombele, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Donny van de Beek, Sander Berge and Morgan Sanson. Grillitsch’s performances are believed to have impressed Tottenham’s scouts, so a bid could follow in the coming weeks. He wouldn’t break the bank at £18m either.
