The latest edition of the UEFA European Championships will take place following the conclusion of the club footballing season and several Tottenham Hotspur players could have a chance of lifting the trophy.

Spurs’ only real battle left this season is to attempt to secure a top-four position and a return to the UEFA Champions League. There will almost certainly be no silverware for the current crop of players to celebrate, although they could taste that kind of success on the international scene in the summer.

We have identified the Tottenham players that have the highest chances of experiencing glory with their national teams this summer, based on the tournament odds and the likelihood of them being called up.

James Maddison

James Maddison has never been an England regular although his impressive club season could earn him a EURO 2024 call-up.

England are considered one of the leading frontrunners for the upcoming tournament by many oddsmakers who are offering free EURO bets alongside their markets this summer.

Copybet, for example, offers the Three Lions as joint-favourites alongside France at odds of 7/2 and the site has bonuses available for the upcoming summer of football where a £10 bet could return as much as £50 in free bets.

The early predictions show that is it tough to separate England and France as the outright favourites. Maddison will need his England team to prove themselves sd the strongest team at the tournament as they will likely have to dispatch France in the latter stages.

However, before that, he will need to earn a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad if he is to have any chance of capturing silverware. Maddison was called up for the September and November internationals but had to withdraw from the latter against Malta and North Macedonia through injury.

He will likely be taken to Germany provided that he does not pick up any more injuries before the end of the season. A place in the England squad would make him comfortably Tottenham’s greatest chance of a European champion.

Timo Werner

Timo Werner has not played for Germany since June 2023, and he has been absent from the squad in two straight international windows.

However, he will hope his upturn in club form since joining Ange Postecoglou’s side on loan in January will help to earn him a place in Julian Naglesmann’s EURO 2024 squad.

Germany are offered at 13/2 in the outright tournament odds, which means if Werner has to be called up then he would be part of a team seen as the most likely to lift the trophy besides England or France.

Werner could provide his nation with pace and directness in attack which they lack outside of a few attacking players. His versatility across the forward line would also make him an advantageous pick in Nagelsmann’s squad too.

Maddison is ultimately Tottenham’s most likely player to win EURO 2024, although Werner if picked would also represent a top team that would have the unique boost of being backed by home nation support.

There is a strong chance of a Spurs player returning with the trophy provided that either England or Germany finds a way to down France’s remarkably talented team.
