The tabloids both in Spain and in this country have been full of reports in recent months that Real will make a bid for Harry Kane in the summer, but Sport Bild are reporting that their interest has cooled in recent days.
The German publication report that the Spanish giant`s scouts were not impressed by our no.10`s performance against Juve, and have somehow decided, based on one match, that he isn`t a big game player. Instead they have switched their attention to Bayern`s Robert Lewandowski.
If that truly is the case that is fantastic news. At the start of the year, there had been talk of the club offering a contract worth up to £200,000 a week, although Harry later denied any discussions over a new deal had taken place.
Still, with interest from other clubs reportedly cooling for now, it could be the perfect time to tie our star man down for the long term. It would be a real statement of intent from the club, and it could lead other players following suit, and securing our best players to extended contracts.
