£15m Signing Set To Leave Tottenham After One Season

|

Fernando Llorente looks destined to leave the club in the summer, according to the Evening Standard.

Although he was on the bench against Bournemouth, the Spaniard has been notably absent from matchday squads for recent Premier League games. Despite scoring a hat-trick against Rochdale, it seems it was too late to save his Spurs career.

The 33 year old was supposed to provide able backup for Harry when we signed him for £15m in the summer, but it looks as though Son will be given the nod to play up front in the absence of our no.10.

The South Korean`s form certainly merits him playing through the middle, and it appears we will be seeing the axis of Lamela, Son and Dele continue on from the 4-1 win last time out.

Llorente has been disappointing since his arrival from Swansea, but there have been a couple of mitigating factors in his displays for us this season. He arrived at the club with a broken arm which disrupted his pre-season preparations, and he has been limited to just ten starts in all competitions.

Saying that though, he hasn`t grasped the opportunities when he has been presented them, and it seems Poch has already made up his mind to cut his losses on the former Spanish international.
