Midfielder Johnnie Jackson scored a great goal to give Tottenham’s reserves 3 points in the reserves game against local rivals West Ham on Monday. That put the reserves 10 points clear at the top of the Premier Reserve League South having pulled off 11 wins in the last 12 matches.

Tottenham player Mounir El Hamdaoui has seen his loan at Derby cut short for a second time due to injury. The striker picked up a groin strain whilst scoring in a game v Leicester. The 21-year-old, who suffered a shoulder injury in his first spell, will now require surgery.

Martin Jol defended his England international striker Jermain Defoe after the hitman showed his frustration at not playing a part in yesterday`s 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers at the Lane. Defoe had been warming up as a substitute, and with a minute to go was apparantly informed he would not be thrown into the fray. With that Defoe headed straight down the tunnel. Tottenham and Manchester United have again been linked with £5million rated left-sided Blackburn winger Morten Gamst Pedersen who has 9 goals this season. Spurs have also been linked with Sunderland’s Julio Arca and Middlesbrough’s Stewart Downing.
Several reports say that Spurs will offer £2million for Julio Arca but that Sunderland will want the £3million they paid for the player five years ago.

The Premiership clash at Birmingham City on March 18 (5.15pm kick off) is a sell out.

There is a ‘friendly’ agreement between Chelsea and Tottenham according to The Daily Express. The paper claims Spurs have first refusal on a number of Chelsea players in a cut price deal. They say that right-back Glen Johnson is amongst the possible players.
