Teams: Nottingham Forest vs Spurs

|

As expected, Spurs have made changes to their XI to face Nottingham Forest in the League Cup third round tonight (7:45 PM BST), but not as many as some may have anticipated.

Indeed, Antonio Conte’s XI at the city ground is a strong one, with mainstays Eric Dier, Pierre Emile-Hojbjerg and Harry Kane all starting, and all in all, there are only four changes from the side that was beaten by Liverpool at the weekend.

Fraser Forster comes in for Hugo Lloris to make his competitive debut in goal, while Davinson Sanchez, Matt Doherty, and Oliver Skipp have replaced Emerson Royal, Rodrigo Bentancur and Ben Davies, with the Welshman missing entirely from the entire matchday squad, as are Lucas Moura, Cristian Romero and of course, Heung-min Son.

However, the sight of Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison on the bench is also a sight for sore eyes. With Lloris on the bench, Kane captains the side tonight.

Spurs XI: Forster; Sanchez, Dier, Lenglet; Doherty, Bissouma, Skipp, Hojbjerg, Sessegnon; Kane (c), Perisic.

Subs: Lloris, Royal, Spence, Tanganga, Sarr, Bentancur, Gil, Richarlison, Kulusevski.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have made 9 changes from the side that nicked a last-gasp 2-2 draw at home to Brentford on Saturday:

Forest XI: Hennessy; Worrall (c), Boly, Mangala; Aurier, Yates, O’Brien, Lodi; Lingard, Awoniyi, Surridge.

Subs: Henderson, Cook, Williams, Mbe Soh, Johnson, Colback, Freuler, Dennis, Gibbs-White.

    Spence. Spence. Spence.

    Sarr. Sarr. Sarr.

Give them a go. Anyone better than Charlie Chaplin Doherty and the appalling Emerson Royal.

    Absolute embarrassment.

    Utterly pathetic.
    Shocking performance.
Conte has to go. The only trophy we stood a chance with.
    Absolute rubbish.

( Except for Djed Spence our best player.)
