Stunning Rearguard Action Sees Spurs Man Take MotM From Dortmund Tie

|

After a wobble in the Premier League campaign, Tottenham Hotspur drew a line in the London derby with Arsenal to take a point and we got back to winning ways on Tuesday evening in the Champions League second leg tie against Borussia Dortmund.

Heading to the Signal Iduna Park with a comfortable 3-0 lead from the Wembley leg following goals from Son Heung-Min, Jan Vertonghen and Fernando Llorente, everyone knew Dortmund would throw the proverbial kitchen sink in the hope of getting back into the tie and saving their blushes in the process.

They did just that, but couldn’t find a way past Hugo Lloris with a solid rearguard action, so when Harry Kane popped up early on in the second half to make it 1-0 on the night – it was 4-0 on aggregate and through we go.

Statistics website Whoscored gave their star man award to our stopper, with a score of 8.35.

Completing the top five best performers on the night were Vertonghen (7.91), Moussa Sissoko (7.66), Kane (7.52) and Davinson Sanchez (7.20).

Ben Davies also received a seven plus score for his efforts on the night.

On we roll.
