With Tottenhan Hotspur returning to winning ways on New Year’s Day with a very comfortable victory over Cardiff City, tonight saw a change of pace as we travelled to Tranmere Rovers in the third round of the FA Cup.

There were plenty of changes as expected as manager Mauricio Pochettino took the opportunity to rest some of our senior stars, but the squad put out – with no disrespect meant to Tranmere – was more than enough to take victory and book our place in the fourth round draw.

Although it took us a while to get going, Serge Aurier opened the scoring five minutes from the break and second half we took charge with further goals Aurier completing his brace, Fernando Llorente getting a hattrick and solo efforts from Son Heung-Min and late substitute Harry Kane.

A comfortable 7-0 victory, some players getting a good rest and others getting a decent runout.

Can’t be upset about that.

Enjoy your evening’s folks!
