Spurs Top Group J’s Table With A Royal Performance Of Their Own – Match Stats

Another midweek fixture for Tottenham Hotspur fans to enjoy and it was the Group J table topping decider as we welcomed Royal Antwerp to White Hart Lane.

Plenty of changes were made again by manager Jose Mourinho despite the Europa League advantage we would gain with victory, but it was still a strong squad on paper and in fairness we started brightly and very well. Although the visitors had more of the ball, the threat in the opening half hour came from us and they had yet to register a single effort at goal.

0-0 at the break but we really should’ve already been in front.

The second half was a little bit different, we had more possession but didn’t really get going until Alves Morais put us ahead 56 minutes in. Changes had been planned though and Mourinho followed straight through.

Strong changes as well.

We were largely comfortable when Giovani Lo Celso made it 2-0 with 19 minutes to go, so we finish top of the group and deservedly so.
