Following on from the disappointing defeat to Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur were looking to get back to winning ways as we welcomed Leicester City to White Hart Lane earlier today.
It was a hard fought tie between both teams but sadly for us it’s back to back losses for manager Jose Mourinho as a late first half penalty from Jamie Vardy gave them the advantage and then a Toby Alderweireld credited own goal on the hour mark settled the game.
Leicester also had the now obligatory Video Assistant Referee disallow a goal and VAR also naturally had a hand in the award of their penalty.
How quickly things change in this strange and weird season, we are now six points off top spot and although we had a few chances, in reality, few can begrudge Brendan Rodgers his win here.
We have to draw a line under this dip quickly and the EFL Cup quarter final against Stoke City next Wednesday is absolutely winnable as we keep our eye on that silverware.
