Tottenham Hotspur went into this Sunday afternoon’s Premier League clash with Chelsea knowing that a point or win would send us back to the top of the table, and although it wasn’t the win everyone wanted – it was a highly competitive derby that just lacked goals.
Undeniably the hosts edged the statistics of the game, but with both sides largely cancelling each other out, nobody really had a guilt-edged effort to look back on. Chelsea did have the ball in the back of the net but it was scrubbed out.
All in all, there can probably be few complaints given the performance and fans will certainly take the positive of Joe Rodon’s first start as he continues to adjust to life at the club. A point more than keeps us ticking over and whilst this wasn’t a must win game in the normal sense of the phrase, backing up the Manchester City win and not losing or conceding is a massive plus.
