Spurs Reportedly Table Early Offer For Striker But If True, A Deal Is Far From Done

|

Reports in Spain have linked Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United with potential moves for Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez.

The report seems to originate from outlet galiciapress but there are no quotes attributable and to me at least, it reads as a typical rumour mill piece with no substance…added to that it speculates that Gomez could be Kane’s replacement over the summer, which probably tells you everything you need to know.

In any event, they claim that we have now put a firm 29million Euro offer on the table for the 22-year-old attacker, and so far in the campaign of 2018/19, the Uruguay international has scored eleven goals and provided five assists in 29 La Liga clashes.

If we have any real interest in the player here it’s an opening gambit to get negotiations underway as apparently his release fee is 50million Euros, and the suggestion is our offer has been rebuffed as being too low.

However, in true fashion for the rumour mill it claims Celta president Carlos Mourino would accept an offer in the region of 35million Euros as they accept the player will be headed for new pastures over the summer.

Another name of some interest and does appear to be the right age and sort of in the area of fee where we could see a deal happen, but we’ll only know come the summer so pointless getting too excited at the moment.
