Spurs reportedly monitoring Moroccan goal machine

|

The Lilywhites are no stranger to rumours linking them to players in Italy, due to Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte’s strong links with Italian football.

The freshest of these rumours to come out of Italy has been that Spurs are reportedly eyeing-up Bari striker Walid Cheddira, as a potential back up to Harry Kane.

Bari are flying high in Serie B – after achieving promotion from the 3rd tier last season- with Cheddira’s goals playing a huge part in their success.

The Moroccan currently has 13 goals in 13 games so far this season – contributing to 72% of Bari’s league goals this season.

Cheddira has had a very similar career path to other famous forwards such as Jamie Vardy – with the Moroccan climbing from non-league football, all to the way to the top of Serie B.

To get an insight on how good the 24-year-old really is, we took a dive into his stats so far this season.

Cheddira is clinical when it comes to hitting the target, with 20 of his 30 shots so far this season hitting the target. This means that the forward is hitting the target 66% of the time – just for context Harry Kane is hitting the target at rate of 70% this season.

Spurs fans, would you sign Walid Cheddira?

YES

NO

Spurs fans will love to hear the fact that Bari are no strangers in producing top-quality forwards with players such as Antonio Cassano coming through their youth ranks.

It has been reported that it will take around £13 million to secure the forward’s signature – which seems as a no brainer to me as I can easily see Harry Kane burning out after the World Cup.
