Spurs Receive Massive Boost Ahead Of Barcelona Clash

|

Tottenham Hotspur are in somewhat sunny Spain for tonight’s Champions League clash with Barcelona at the Nou Camp and whilst victory would complete a reasonably remarkable turnaround given our early results in the Group stage and secure progress through to the next round, simply matching Inter Milan’s result serves the same purpose.

Barca manager Ernesto Valverde was meeting with the media yesterday to preview the game and in what can only be a boost and good news for Spurs, former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has been ruled out of the match with injury.

The Uruguayan international had previously sustained a knee injury that needed stem cell treatment and he was given a timeframe of two weeks on the sidelines. Having missed the Group game against PSV Eindhoven, he scored in his return last weekend against Espanyol, but the 31-year-old has either suffered a problem or is being given a rest, given they have already qualified.

Sky Sports don’t elaborate and I see no reason to go searching, as the important point is he’s out.

Now if Lionel Messi goes down with a 48 bug I’ll be even more delighted.
