Spurs Predicted XI For Huddersfield – Team Sort Of Picks Itself With Rotation

|

Tottenham Hotspur travel away to the John Smith’s Stadium this weekend to face David Wagner’s Huddersfield Town as we return to Premier League action after EFL Cup distraction.

With a penalty shootout win over Watford in our last game, that built on the 2-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion as we brought our three-game losing streak to an end and confidence is certainly higher than it was this time last week.

With a number of changes made by manager Mauricio Pochettino to the midweek squad, it’s fair to say he’ll revert to type for this one so we can expect to see the return of a few players, not least England striker Harry Kane as he received 90 minutes off.

Gazzaniga,
Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose,
Dier, Dembele,
Lamela, Alli, Son Heung-min,
Kane.

Trippier is guaranteed to come back in given the injury concerns over Serge Aurier, and given Poch’s rotation, I can’t see Kyle Walker-Peters coming in yet. Vertonghen for Sanchez is obvious after a mixed performance, as is Rose for Davies.

With Eriksen sidelined with a knock of his own – although as I type I haven’t seen potential severity – Lamela will get the nod. With Lucas Moura starting the last one, I think Sonny will get this run-out and I can’t see Alli dropping out, even if he only gets the first half to bring his own fitness on further.

I could, of course, be miles off.
